A recap of Ultralytics' time at 4YFN 2024!

Ultralytics values being part of the AI community and staying current on the latest trends and discoveries in the field. Each year, we attend events to connect with our community. We also use these opportunities to share updates on our Ultralytics YOLO models and our SaaS tool, Ultralytics HUB.

Additionally, we take the time to learn about new developments in the field. Our first event of 2024 was 4 Years from Now (4YFN), part of the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona.

The conference had numerous sponsors, including CaixaBank DayOne, Crescenta, EY, and AWS Startups, with attendees from all over the world sharing ideas around a common goal: technological innovation.

The exhibitors reflected this range, from startups to multinationals like Huawei, Qualcomm, and Amazon.

Tailored mainly for startups, 4YFN also marked its 10th anniversary, reinforcing its position as a globally recognized platform that unites technology, startups, investors, corporations, and public institutions.

Ultralytics' presence#

From February 26 to 29, the Ultralytics team went to the 4YFN conference in Barcelona to showcase our work. Over four days, Paula Derrenger, Head of Growth, and Glenn Jocher, Founder and CEO, represented Ultralytics.

Our startup pod served as a hub for interaction and networking. We demoed the Ultralytics HUB app, which let visitors connect with our team, try out Ultralytics YOLOv8, and experience the app's easy-to-use interface firsthand.

Community engagement#

The conference was a great place to make new connections and highlight Ultralytics' commitment to innovation and partnership. It also allowed us to engage with our community. It was lovely to meet with Asier Arranz in Robotics & Embedded AI at NVIDIA as well as Carlos Santana from DotCSV. Overall, it was great to see the enthusiasm of our followers and answer their questions in person.

Exploring innovation#

In a bustling environment, our team saw many new inventions. Among these were Lenovo's AI devices and software, including the Lenovo ThinkBook Transparent Display Laptop. This device, featuring a 17.3-inch Micro-LED transparent display, generated significant excitement. Its borderless screen, transparent keyboard area, and unique floating footpad design offered a peek into the potential future of technology for all.

Other thought-provoking technologies presented at the fair included Motorola’s rollable concept phone and Xiaomi’s latest devices.

Another key highlight was Glenn Jocher's pitch on stage, which caught the interest of industry leaders and sparked new discussions.

Wrapping up#

As the conference came to a close, our team left Barcelona with a sense of accomplishment and anticipation for the future. The event provided valuable insights into the latest trends and innovations in AI while fostering meaningful connections that will shape Ultralytics' trajectory in the industry.

Looking back, the 4YFN conference proved to be a positive experience for Ultralytics, underscoring our commitment to driving AI innovation forward. We are excited to build on the momentum gained at 4YFN.
